Today we held our January 2010 meeting at Bella Caffe in Park Rapids MN. Present: Cindy, LuAnne, Deb, Mike, Sharon, Jerry. The next meeting will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010, from 12:30 to 3PM at Bella Caffe in Park Rapids MN.

We are starting to receive submissions for the next book. Be sure to get yours turned in! Deadline is March 1, 2010. We are offering an electronic submission form this year. Try it out.

WRITING CLASSES
Mike says there are quite a few good classes through Normandale Community College’s website.

They cost $79 for a 6 week 12 lesson Internet course. Example: Publishing your nonfiction book.

Also check out The Loft for classes. Jerry is taking one there called The Short Short Story taught by Marge Barrett. It starts January 25, 2010, every Wednesday evening for 6 weeks.

Check out Anne Morgan’s blog. This is a discussion site that features posts about the process of getting published. We also interview authors (especially first-time), as well as agents and editors.
