January Writers’ Meeting

Hello Everyone, today we held our January meeting.

PRESENT: Dawn, Sharon, Ryan, Kim, Mike, Marlys, Erin, Mary.

TALKING STICK 28: Submissions are open. Please see submission guidelines and get your best writings sent in by the March 1, 2019 deadline.

MISCELLANEOUS: We are nearing completion of Richard’s poetry book. We have started Mike’s third book of cabin stories. Sharon is slowly compiling poems for her fourth poetry book.

Tarah, who does the layout and cover design for our TS books and the others that we publish, has her own website www.grandmashousediy.com. You can sign up there for her newsletter.

BOOK EVENTS: The Hackensack Book & Art event will be held on August 10, 2019. We plan to have a table there again.

Applications are available for the Northwoods Writers Conference to be held June 17-23 in Bemidji. www.northwoodswriters.org.

Go to the Loft website to read about Wordplay on May 2 and 3, 2019. Stephen King will be involved. www.loft.org.

Erin will have her book release party for her new poetry book on April 6, 2019 at the Watermark Art Center in Bemidji, MN. Congrats, Erin.

Chanhassen Library event #1: Saturday Jan 26 from 10:30 to noon: Write Like There’s Nobody Criticizing. Presented by the Loft. Registration is required at your library or on their website calendar www.carverlib.org. 7711 Kerber Blvd, 952-227-1500.

Second Chanhassen Library event is on Feb 1. That is a closed meeting for library staff only. Our Mike will be talking about writing, the environment, and humor.
