Today our May meeting was held at Bella Caffe in Park Rapids MN from 12:30 to 3PM. The next meeting will be June 20, 2010.

The book is progressing. We are still in the proofing stage. We hope to get it sent in in about two weeks.

WRITING EVENTS

Jerry told us about the Loft 35th Birthday event. This will be held Thursday June 3, from 6 to 8 PM with a program at 6:30 PM. loft@loft.org for more information.

Loft Outreach program—The Loft may be offering writing workshops in towns north of St. Cloud.

Doug Ohman, photographer, will be at Headwaters Lifelong Learning this fall. He is now doing a book on State Parks.

ART COOP/BLANK CANVAS GALLERY & EDUCATION CENTER

The Art Coop (in the Jackpine Café building) will be open Memorial weekend. The formal grand opening will be on 6-21 Monday with an informal grand opening on 6-20 Sunday. On Saturday, 6-19, they will have mini-seminars on comic book art.

The group is working to get the space ready for displaying art. All workers will be volunteers. Any money will go to make more money and keep it going. They plan to have displays in the window. They may have a seminar where teens can create a book in one day with their writings in it.

There is an apartment above the space which may provide some options for classes or visiting artists.

The gallery will be open 7 days a week.

BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT

Sunday, July 11 is the date scheduled for our next JWB Benefit Golf Tourney. We would love some assistance on getting sponsors.
