Hello Everyone, Today we held our October meeting. The next meeting will be Sunday, November 17, 2013, from 12:30 to 3 PM at Bella Caffe in Park Rapids MN.
PRESENT: Sharon, Jerry, Deb, Niomi
TALKING STICK 22 BOOK PARTY AND WORKSHOP: In September, we held our book release party and had a workshop with LouAnn Muhm. Both were well attended. The workshop was called Inviting the Muse. At the book party, we had lots of great readers. We really like holding the book party at Blueberry Pines. We will be holding a board meeting soon to start planning for next year. Tentative date for next year is Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014–but that may change.
COMING WRITERS’ EVENTS:
Brainerd Writers Alliance, October 26 event with Candace Simar and Lorna Landvik. Preregister by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. 9:30 AM to 3 PM at the Brainerd Public Library.
Next Armory meeting will be Thursday 10-31-13 from 1:30 to 2 PM. Jerry and Niomi will be there with a display of books. The visitors this time will be from the Senate.
RECENT WRITERS’ EVENTS: Sharon and Tarah attended the LouAnn Muhm and Kathryn Kayser poetry reading in September and enjoyed it immensely. They also (along with Jerry and Niomi) attended the Lorna Landvik event at the Park Rapids Library in October. Lorna is such a great standup comedian as well as a talented writer. Niomi attended Lake Region’s event on October 5, sold some books, took in some workshops. Jerry attended the members party at the Loft.
MISCELLANEOUS: Deb is going to check into teaching a class through the Loft. Great idea, Deb!
Sharon is now taking an online class through the Loft and enjoying it immensely.
Deb will be doing NANOWRIMO again this year. More information coming soon.
Then we took turns reading things that we are working on. The rest of us commented and critiqued. We had some excellent writings today. Hope to see you next time!
Jackpine Writers' Bloc will be sending you a receipt that you can use as your tax deductible donation. Thanks for your support!
