December Meeting Minutes 2024

Hello Everyone,

PRESENT:

Ryan, Sharon, Mike, Dawn, Erin, Jan.

TALKING STICK:

Soon we will send out the next Call for Submissions for Talking Stick 34 with a deadline of March 1, 2025. Do we want to use the words in the Creative Twist again? It sounds like we do. We already have Sept 20, 2025 at Jack Pine Resort for the next book party and workshop.

PRLAAC:

Mike attended the Dec meeting. They discussed a lodging tax to go to the Chamber of Commerce to promote Hubbard County. They mentioned a new Art Beat will be coming out soon.

BOOK EVENTS:

     Mike sold books at Holiday Hands in Bemidji Saturday 12-14-24.

     Ryan is working on his next book, a sequel to his first one. Jan is working on her next poetry book. Erin will want to do her next one in 2025.

     Erin told us that the Region 2 Arts Council has information on Marketing on Social Media, how to market your book, in January 2025.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Everyone today brought something to read. Three of us used the words.

We had an enjoyable time reading and critiquing. It was one of those extra good meetings. Hope to see you all next time!
