For many years, we supported ourselves with donations, book sales, and a few grants. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to fund our books. Without your support and donations, there would be no Jackpine Writers’ Bloc and no Talking Stick books. Remember, your tax donation is tax deductible. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

March Meeting Minutes 2019

PRESENT: Pete, Ryan, Jan, Marlys, Mike, Dawn, Sharon, Mary.

TALKING STICK 28:

Over 150 writers sent in submissions. We will have our Editorial Board meeting soon. Our Book Release Party and workshop are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at Smokey Hills Resort (renamed The Branch) near Osage MN. Our workshop instructor will be Angela Foster.

MISCELLANEOUS:

We are working on Mike’s third book of cabin stories. We regret that our Writer Warrior event for May has been cancelled. We will definitely be planning more events at Crow Wing Crest Lodge.

Ryan reported on the PRLAAC meeting in early March. They are going to have the Great American Story event in September again. There will be a free workshop with Will Weaver on April 27, 2019.

Arts of the Earth Festival in Bemidji at BSU, April 27 and 28, 2019—including poetry reading. The Midwest Independent Publishers will hold their awards event on May 4, 2019.

The World International Mystery Convention (Bouscher-Con) will be held in Dallas Texas from Oct 30-Nov 1.

WRITERS EVENTS:
