July Meeting Minutes 2025

Hello Everyone,

PRESENT:

TALKING STICK PROCESS:

Our TS34 books are done and ordered. They should arrive on July 28.

     Our book party and workshop flyers will be sent out soon so we can start signing people up.

WRITING EVENTS:

     The Hackensack Book and Art Festival is coming up soon, on Saturday August 9. Niomi and perhaps Dawn and/or Marlys will be helping on that day.

     The Northwoods Writers Conference in Bemidji MN was cancelled due to the big wind storm that caused so much destruction in Bemidji. Refunds were issued. Check with participantcoord.mnwc@gmail.com for information on the New Moon Craft Series. This is a series of monthly online talks.

     PRLAAC (Heartland Arts) meeting on 7-14-25. They discussed Noon Hour Concerts and Art Leap and the Art Beat/De La Hunt Media Magazine.

     Mike has been selling books in Nisswa at the turtle races. Many people attend these events.

     Check out the Watermark Art Center in Bemidji for occasional writing events.

     Check out Storyworth for Memoir writing. A place to tell your story.

     Check out Merlin Bird app for identifying bird songs.

     Try The Morning Pages with Julia Cameron—a great way to get your thoughts down on paper and get words flowing! Both Marlys and Sharon have done this and highly recommend it.

We took turns reading things that we have been working on. We had a short meeting but an excellent one. Next month will be the Hackensack Book and Art event and our regular JWB meeting. Then in September, on Sept. 20, we will have the TS34 book party and workshop with Candace Simar. Hope to see you at those events!
