October Meeting Minutes 2024

Hello Everyone,

PRESENT:

Sharon, Dawn, Erin, Niomi, Mary.

PRLAAC:

No one was able to attend the meeting. Ryan is in Iceland. Mike is on a hunting trip.

TALKING STICK:

All the books have been mailed out to the writers who were not able to attend the book party.

We are receiving orders for the book in the mail and selling on Amazon/KDP. We have been receiving donations.

At our workshop this year on Sept 14, we ended up with 22 people at the workshop. Attendees had such great comments about Jeanne Cooney. She is a very funny and entertaining speaker. We had about 40 people at the time of the book party. After our event, About 14 people went to the Cookhouse afterward for drinks and dinner. We had a great time and fun conversation.

Next year we have chosen Sept. 20 for our book party, again at Jack Pines Resort.

WRITING OR ART EVENTS:

Dawn sent some of her photos in to the Lake Country Journal photo contest.

Erin mentioned a Quarantine Book Club. They are reading Short Stories of Flaherty O’Connor.

There will be a story telling event in Bemidji at the Keg & Cork. Dawn will be the Emcee. These will be real life scary stories.

We had a good time reading things that we had written while others critiqued. Three of us used the monthly words to spark a poem or story. Hope to see you all next time!
